About Olive-ADOPTION PENDING

There's nothing quite like young puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're homeless in rural New Mexico. A kind rescuer took Olive in to prevent her from the horrors of a high-kill shelter. This rescuer, recognizing the engaging and very sweet temperament of the baby she had just saved, contacted Farfel's Rescue. Farfel's was told about the great personality and over- the- top cuteness of this special puppy and made the decision to help Olive find her first ever forever family. She deserves a great home and loving guardian just as much as any other sweet baby with a great temperament. This sweet and engaging Dachshund/Yorkie mix (an up and coming new designer breed that's loved for it's cottony-soft coat, super-cuteness and engaging personality) is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Olive is also very beautiful...with that adorable puppy face that you just want to hug..and tell her that everything is going to be perfect from this point forth. Olive is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so silly and very engaging...very typical of these breeds. She's also bright and so loving (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..puppy energy may call). Olive clearly has no memory of her scary beginning. Since Olive is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion. Olive will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs, cats and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world. Puppy kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes are so important in molding a puppy for a life of good behavior...and therefore the ability to include them in activities out in the world . It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you with appropriate behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement (force free) trainers in your area. We're very open to Olive finding her forever home with an active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a young dog. Olive is known to do well with gentle older children (but has never been formally temperament tested) and other dogs are very fun for Olive. Olive is up to date on her vetting, but has yet to be spayed. We're hoping that she will be fixed when she arrives from New Mexico, however a tiny puppy like Olive is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Olive to be spayed and micro chipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.
