Adoption Fee: $175
Yorkie
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Daisey is 10 years old and weighs a chubby 8 lbs. Daisy is vision-impaired with bilateral cataracts. Otherwise, she is a perfect Little Alabama Princess. Sweet Daisey is being fostered in Mobile, AL. UPDATED BIO 08/08/2018: Daisey has been in her foster home for 2 months now and acts like she has always lived there. Her impaired vision has not stopped her from learning the layout of the house and doing her own thing. As long as she is taken out at least every two hours, house-training isn't an issue. She has her own routine and likes to stick with it. This little Princess is an early riser and will definitely let you know when she is ready to go to bed. Foster Mom says that Daisey is the perfect little snuggle bug and wants to stay very close to her human. Daisey would love to have a forever home with a stay-at-home mom or dad. She does not like to be left alone so she would be perfect for someone that wants a constant companion. Now a few words from Little Miss Daisey: 'I am really starting to enjoy my foster home. I have to admit I was very nervous at first but now I am a pro at making my way around inside the house. My foster mom says I look FABULOUS since I have lost some weight. Let me tell you, it was work but I feel GREAT now. I even heard my foster mom say the hair on my ears is growing back in since she gives me a bath every week. I am not crazy about the baths, but I know they make me feel better and smell really nice so I just endure it. Besides, I don't think she would let me sleep with her if I didn't have my bath. My foster mom told me I will find my forever home soon and if it is better than this one, I am really EXCITED!' If you are looking for a cuddly snuggle pup, little Miss Daisey would fit the bill. She is the sweetest little senior princess that would love a forever home where she could be spoiled like she deserves to be.UPDATED BIO 07/10/2018: Daisey has been in her foster home for a month now, and she continues to do very well. Even with limited vision in both of her eyes, she has learned to navigate around the house like she has always lived there. This little princess is also slimming down on her new 'diet' and exercise. Miss Daisey is the perfect little snuggle bug and is oh-so-anxious to find a forever home of her own. She is an early riser and will let her Foster Mom know when she is ready to go to bed. As long as she is taken out on regular intervals, house- training is going very well. Her last home had a doggie door and she could handle trips outside alone. That is not the case in her foster home so she isn't used to letting anyone know when she needs to go out, although when she is taken out, she knows what to do! Daisey went to see a Veterinary Ophthalmologist yesterday. It was not the news her Foster Mom or United Yorkie Rescue wanted to hear. Unfortunately, Daisey also has bilateral corneal degeneration. This means that she is not a candidate for cataract surgery. Her diminished vision will never return and she will never see any better than she does right now. With her limited vision, she will never clearly see the faces of her forever family, although this will not stop her from feeling the love she will receive. And this certainly doesn't change the love she will be giving to her forever family. If you are looking for a very lovable little southern senior princess, Daisey is just the doggie for you. She would love a forever mom or dad that is able to stay home with her since she needs to be taken out regularly and does not like being alone. Now a few words from Miss Daisey: 'Boy, this last month has been interesting. I must admit, my mouth feels much better now that my rotten teeth are gone. I am getting a bit more energy now that I lost a little weight, although I found out that I prefer to exercise inside the house instead of outside. It is HOT outside. Now that I know my way around all the rooms, I like to walk a specific path to exercise. My Foster Mom still takes me out in the yard but doesn't need to walk near me as much as she used to when I was first learning the layout of the land. Thank heavens - I don't like to sweat! Did I say that it was HOT outside? At night my Foster Mom lets me sleep with her. I snuggle up and sleep through the night. She told me she is positive I will find a forever home soon. If it is better than this place, I really can't wait!
