About Oakley

Oakley, a very food motivated genius who happens to be a great couch buddy. Oakley LOVES to learn, he learned to get a beer in under 3 hours. With enough time and treats there is nothing he can't learn. He loves walks and will most definitely be at you to the car if you even whisper the word car ride. He's adventures and curious so keeping an eye on him is a must. He's great with most dogs but is 'rude' with interductions which can some times cause issues. He's good around chickens and loves goats and donkey's. He's great with people but very cautious and barkful to men while hiking. He's good with kids until he gets tired, where it's best he has his own couch where the young ones can leave him alone.(kids old enough to understand to leave him alone near bed time are best). He is crate trained but would love the bed if you allow him. There's not a person out there who can run this guy tired. I took him for 3-4mile runs on the nice days from spring to fall and never once had him ask to slow down or stop. The most perfect place for Oakley would be single dog family home where he can get everyone's love and attention and could snuggle up in between the family on the couch. He also with out a doubt needs a large yard and would have no argument with walking after dinner every night. Oakley is the farthest thing from a picky eater, when he needs to take pills(if injured or sick) he takes his pills like a treat, he eats all his fruits and vegetables and will even clean up after the chickens. Things he dislikes, garlic, asparagus, mint, citrus peels, and Basil. He loves the water but won't jump off the dock but really really loves to dunk his head under water to pull up and eat the water grass. His most favorite place in the winter time is as close to the wood stove as possible (sometimes scary close but he seems to enjoy it). Ok.
