Larry was willed to me by a close friend who was special ops overseas and KIA. His sister was dying of Leukemia and never told her brother. She also didn't tell him their house had been taken by the state when their parents were killed in a head on collision with a drunk driving the wrong way. She's placed both Larry and his sister Chrissy in a boarding clinic when she was sent to hospice. When the Will was read both dogs had run out of money at the clinic and had been placed on death row. Jennifer called to tell me about the Will, the dogs and their impending doom. I rousted a Facebook friend and, forgoing sleep for three days, I tried to get a transport company headed South to bring them while my friend got them out of the shelter in NY. My vet informed me that both Larry and his sister had been abused in the shelter. I found out Larry takes awhile to warm up to men (as he was probably beaten with a metal pipe/pole) but he is really a lover who just wants his inner puppy to sit on someone's lap and fall asleep. He got a real personality and I love him to pieces. We have numerous cats and he doesn't necessarily zero on on them but when I'm not looking he likes to act like he's taking a step towards them just to watch them scatter! he needs someone with patience to get to know his true personality. He loves to romp and play.
