About Panda

Very sweet 11 yr old senior Australian shepherd border collie mix adopted from Camarillo shelter last month. Very bright lovely dog with skin issues. Currently on allergy shots and organic home made filler free dog food and is doing better. Vet said she has had a rough life. She is a sweet and friendly old soul with a lot of life left in her but I work a lot and do not have the time nor resources required for monthly allergy shots and food prep. I don't have the heart to return her to the shelter as she was traumatized and much in need of love and acceptance and is very happy with me. She is fully house trained with no issues and is happy with 4 walks a day and living in a condo. Vet said her teeth are worn down from chewing on metal bars of a cage, poor girl. I haven't had her around too many other dogs. We meet some on walks with varying responses. Some she is very friendly with others not so much. I don't know how she responds to cats but given her interest in squirrels I suspect she would chase them. She snores, watches television sometimes and is content to just be with me. She loves to chase a soccer ball and is adept with her paws but due to her age tires fairly quickly. She's a wonderful dog, I've only had her for three weeks but she has made great progress. I suspect she would be an excellent sheepdog with much herding ability and agility and obedience skills but she is senior and doesn't have the stamina for more than ten minutes or so of fast running. She loves to run at the park and is obedient. Overall she is an A++ dog who happens to be a senior with severe yeast infection of the skin.
