About Madeline

This sweet girl is Madeline Maddy for short. Maddy is a 4 month old Rat Terrior/ Jack Russel mix and came to Patriots through transport from Texas. She came in 100 percent terrified. So much so I brought her home to foster. Her Texas foster mom wrote that she is scared hides under a blanket and does not like to go outside so she was using a potty pad. And she preferred to stay in her kennel. When she came here all seemed to be true. For an hour anyways. I had her kennel in the dog bedroom but she cried and would not come out. So I moved it to the living room. Within minutes she was pawing at my leg and jumped right up into my lap and snuggled in. I did take her outside on a leash and she screamed at the top of her lungs in terror. So inside she went. About an hour later mine all went outside totally surprised in the middle of the pack there she was outside and loving it. She is now the first one out every time and loves to play. After about 3 hours into being here the kennel was history. If she got scared from a noise she will look at me and the kennel and go back to doing what she was doing. As for hiding under the blanket she only did at bedtime tucked in for the night. If she gets outside many times she will not have a potty accident in the house. She was very dependent on her sister for moral support but has quickly gain confidence and is already doing actives on her own. Maddy will need work with leash training as she seems to be terrified of it. She loves to play toys and loves to run outside so a fenced in yard would be perfect for her. She is a puppy and has all the puppy energy so lots of exercise will be needed. She is a cuddle bug and loves to sit on your lap. Maddy will need some time and patience But will come around quickly in the right environment. As you can see in her picture she has replaced the kennel for the back of the couch.
