About Herbie

Adoption Fee: 275
Maltese / Poodle
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Herbie is available for adoption only in Southern CA. Herbie was rescued just before the 4th of July from a shelter where he had been dumped by his owners for lack of time and training. He is 8 months old, neutered, current on shots and micro chipped. He weighs 9 lbs. and both the shelter vet and the rescue organization's vet confirm he is a good pup and in great health. He went to the groomer's and has a short haircut. He is extremely loving and house training using the crating method is proving to be successful. He enjoys toys and is great with other dogs. His best buddy in foster, Wally, and they enjoy each other's company. Liberty bonds easily and will benefit from obedience training for leash work and commands. He has a la degree of separation anxiety off and on but settles in nicely and would be great to have another dog pal to hang out with. Herbie really needs a home where someone is home or works out of the house or can take him to work. He will not be placed in a home with small children. Children that are well mannered and 14 years and up would be okay. He also will not be placed in a home with seniors that are pass 62 as he is only 7 months and has a life span of 17 years. Do the math. Too many senior dogs, age 10 and up are dumped at shelters by either deceased or disabled owners who have provided a safety net for their adopted dogs. We will not let this happen to Herbie. Adoption process: homecheck, two week trial period, contract and donation of $275 to rescue organization.
