About Jovie

Rottweiler
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Jovie is a jolly Rottweiler girl that is looking for her forever people. Here are 10 things that Ms. J wants her new home to know about her: 1. I am about 2 years old and I weigh 100lbs. 2. I was abandoned in a backyard after my previous owner went to jail. Luckily some nice person found me and eventually I found my way to The Bullpen! 3. Before rescue, I didn't have the opportunity to be around many dogs, so I never really got a chance to learn how to make friends. I can be shy and stand-offish when new pups are introduced, and it takes me a little time to feel comfortable. 4. I live in a home with a grumpy male Cane Corso, and we've learned to live harmoniously for the most part. I think I could live in a home with a large, laid-back male dog, but it would also be just fine by me if I was the only pet in the home. 5. I had a very high prey drive when I came into rescue, but my foster dad has worked with me a lot and now I can be redirected. However, I don't think a home with cats or small furry pets would be the best fit for me. 6. Here are some of the things that I love the most: being outside, hanging with my humans, taking walks, and chewing on bones. 7. I don't enjoy loud noises, so I would like to find a home that is relatively calm and quiet. I wouldn't mind living in a home with children over 10, as long as they weren't too rambunctious. 8. I am housebroken and crate trained, and very well behaved in the house. My new family will need to keep working with me on obedience and leash training, so I can perfect these skills too! 9. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. 10. I recently completed heartworm treatment, and as soon as I get retested, I'll be officially heartworm free. Ready to give Jovie the forever home of her dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a 'perfect placement' so we know that they will not be failed again.
