This dog was plucked from a kill facility and his prior history (including parents) is unknown. Kai has been in foster care since October 2017 while he was getting heart worm treatment. We feel that he is either a Shiba Inu mix or some sort of Collie mix. He doesn't have a curly tail like most Shiba's/mixes have so we are leaning towards Collie or Shepherd. He's medium sized weighing 42 pounds. This dog has a lot of Spitz personality traits. His temperament and mannerisms are Spitz. I fostered a Shiba mix last year for 10 months and Kai has a similar temperament and personality (not quite as high energy as my previous foster dog). Kai is a really fun dog but he can be stubborn and headstrong at times. Kai is energetic and must get a lot of exercise. He would love to have another playful buddy in the house. Kai is currently in the Washington, DC area but can travel to other areas that we have volunteers.
