We are a 501c3 Rescue. We require an adopt application on each dog and then we visit by email and phone. No one is obligated but it saves a lot of needless questions and time. SHE IS URGENT. She has temp care but needs a place to go since the Californial Fires in Santa Rosa left her in this spot. We will take a foster or adopter and the applications for each is on our website www.jcldr.com BAILEY IS Not a Senior yet. She has some good years left and she is a sweetheart. She really deserves a home again. She is in her prime at this age. We do behavioral help and will help anyone that sees the good in this dog and steps out in faith to help her. We will stand by you and work on any issues. She is a sweet girl and deserving. http://jcldr.com/our_dogs/bailey-california-urgent/ to see more photos and the videos of Bailey. She is a petite gal, weighing only 35 lbs, and she is house broken, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Bailey was part of an unplanned litter of puppies from a Blue Heeler female and a Catahoula male. Bailey was the smallest of the litter, and also the sweetest. She has been her current owner's constant companion and is used to a lot of attention and reassurance. Although she does well with cats and dogs, for the most part, we would not recommend a home with young childrenand now the owner has said she will go after a child on a bike.. it is the bike.. she is a heeler.. she will nip so we are chaning her bio to no children and no dogs. They want her to be an only dog, we still can work on her behavior and I will if someone will take her on and let her be the companion she was and still can be. Her current owner is 78 and has moved out of her home and into a senior center that will not accommodate Bailey. Her other family members recently lost their home in the Santa Rosa wildfires and will be renting for the next 2 -3 years and thus cannot have her but she is in temp foster care and needs a home YESTERDAY. Bailey is therefore in URGENT need of a foster home or adopter and we prefer California, per owner. More From her owner:We believe in full disclosure. GOOD: Bailey is a wonderful, affectionate dog who loves to cuddle and sleep with someone. She is usually quiet and has a graceful nature about her. Bailey is agile and very fast and loves to go on runs/walks. She loves kittens, cats, guinea pigs and is very gentle in her interactions with them. Bailey has always been with a member of our family since birth and has never been neglected. BAD: Bailey barks excessively when someone knocks at the door; this will be a hard habit to break. We have only tried scolding her (no use of no-bark collars). Bailey is timid with people (especially men) and dogs she doesn't know. I would not recommend placing her in a home with small children. She likes to herd and occasionally nip. UGLY: Once while my mother was outside doing yard work, two huge pit bulls walked by, minding their own business, with owner on leashes and Bailey ran out and attacked them both. Her injuries healed without scarring. This was startling and very unlike her character. To foster or adopt sweet Bailey, please fill out an application below:
