About Abel

We adopted Abel from the Humane Society when he was 5 months old. Shortly afterward, I became pregnant with our third child who has recently been diagnosed with a compromised immune system and allergy to our Abel. Having a sick child has also resulted in us not having as much time with Abel as we would like. He is now 4 years old. He's great with kids (we have 3) and other dogs. He listens well and loves to be outside. He is 80 lbs and would LOVE to be a lapdog if he could fit! He gets excited when he gets attention but is a very calm dog otherwise. He loves to chase squirrels and play with balls. He doesn't chew things inside the house but if he can sneak something outside, he considers it fair game. He currently eats a diet with salmon and sweet potato. We did not confirm but we think he may have a food allergy to poultry so we switched his food to salmon and he does just fine. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to keep him separate from our sick child so the only option is for us to find him a new home.
