Posted 6/19/18, and pictures taken 4/9/18 - Sarge came from the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter on 4/9/18. I had a few adoptions at that time, so I had space to tag some dogs from the shelter. I asked who had been there the longest, and needed out. Immediately I was told Louise and Sarge. Sarge was put in a dog pen with Louise at first for a few days, but Sarge was not getting along with Louise, so I pulled her out, and he has been by himself. Other dogs come to greet him on the other side of the fence. Sarge wanted to play with Gracie when she was here, and did somewhat through the fence. He is good on a leash, energetic, playful, good with adults, and good with my son, but should not be around smaller children because of his energy. He did get out of the dog pen once, and ran around with the other dogs with no problem. Sarge can be paired up with another female with a playful personality to match his own, but should not be paired up with other male dogs. I have watched him through the window several times throwing a stick up in the air to play with it. He really needs a home that will have time to play with him. I have started to let him run with the other dogs while supervised, and he is doing great, but he goes back in his dog pen when I can't watch him. Sarge was picked up on CR 3159 on 1/18/18 weighing 64 pounds, heartworm negative, estimated to be 2 years old. I had him neutered on 4/14/18. Sarge's adoption fee is $75. Anyone interested in adopting him can e-mail me at [email protected].
