About Zed

Zed is a Lab Mix who was found at our apartment complex on June 15, 2018. He was scared and confused because of a thunder storm. He is sweet tempered and understands commands. We could not find anyone to take him and did not want to place him at the shelter. I took him to our Vet and he had an exam which indicated that his heart and lungs sounded good but he tested positive for Heartworm. He received medication to kill off the baby heartworms and an antibiotic and probiotic to help his system deal with that shot. He was vaccinated for Rabies and given Flea and Tick Medication as well as a Flea and Tick bath. The vet commented that he appeared to have been on the street for awhile and hadn't had a lot to eat. Someone had also cut his teeth in front which indicated that he was used as a bait dog. Despite all of this he is gentle and playful. He is good with other dogs and cats as well as adults and kids. He is eating and drinking but is not used to being inside. I have gotten permission to keep Zed for a week (maybe more if I beg!). I have tried several rescues but haven't had any luck. I will keep trying. He will also need treatment for the Adult Heartworms. He is fairly good with the leash and my daughter is helping him learn more. Anyone who can adopt Zed can reach me at my number. It is urgent that we find him a home as soon as possible where he can be loved and cared for. He is a good dog.
