About MEL

Mel Short for Mellow...A super sweet Boy Mel's story is sad like many... He was with a homeless man at a circle K store, and the homeless man told a lady that she could have him...he said that someone gave him the dog, and he didn't want it. We have treated this as if this could have been a barter deal, where someone needed a cigarette from him, and offered the dog for a cigarette. The dog may have been stolen originally, we don't know. We have had him advertised but no one has come forward. He is a WONDERFUL CALM Chihuahua who LOVES everyone he has come in contact with. He allowed us to trim his nails, (one of the dewclaws was wrapped around into his pad), and he never made a fuss). He loves being held, so if you are a couch person that loves the loyal canine to be with you..he won't take much room. He has very nice markings on his face and on his back. He has a large black dot of fur in the center of his back. The foster came up with Mellow for a name, and we shortened it up a tad to Mel. He appears to be house trained, doing fine with other dogs in the foster home, and cats don't seem to phase him. He isn't skiddish, so not 100% sure, but most likely small kids would be fine. He will be neutered, current on Immunization shots, Rabies shot and Microchipped when he goes in his new forever home. We believe he is around 5-6 yrs old, and 8 lbs. Don't miss out on this awesome dog. Mel's adoption fee is set at $225.00 IMPORTANT: PLEASE do not call or email to see if the dogs are available, If you still see that Mels NOT marked ADOPTED, then he is Still available. The ONLY way to be considered is to complete an application at www.wowdogrescue.org . We will go through applications and if yours is a perfect fit we will call you to meet up! We will be reviewing Mel's Applications on or by June 28th. Once we call you, you will have 3 hours to return the call, if we left you a message, before we go to the next person who applied for him.
