About Lois

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID Lois is an 8-10 year old black Chihuahua (4.5 lbs) who came to Fuzzy Pawz after she was removed from a hoarding situation by IHS this past spring. She and the other dogs that were removed needed lots of medical attention, so she came to foster care to recover. Lois had to have most of her teeth removed and has since healed from surgery to also alleviate the symptoms of a sinus infection. Her ears were also infected and she was pretty skinny. Her back legs are crooked but they don't cause her pain and she gets around alright. Fast forward about 5 weeks and she is REALLY starting to feel much better! Now that Lois' health issues have been addressed, her foster family has been able to see her true personality and what an absolute joy she is! Lois gets along with all other dogs and cats and is generally a pretty mellow dog. She enjoys her naps, either on your lap or in the warm sun. She also REALLY enjoys meal time. Wet food is her only option now that most of her teeth are gone, but she gets very excited and animated when it's time to eat. Recently Lois has begun to interact with and play with the other dogs in her foster home, which makes us think she will do best in a home with at least one other dog. Lois is so easy going that she travels in the car well, and does fine in groups of people. She is really snuggly and affectionate, and even will pull your hand towardsher if she wants more attention. We haven't had her around kids, but she would probably do well with kids that respected her and were gentle. She is crate trained and mostly potty trained (we think she's never been potty trained in her life so she will need some reinforcement). Lois will do well in many homes, but she needs a home that understands and can accommodate her physical needs (wet food, potty training, and no extensive walks). She will reward you with curling up on your lap and a wiggly butt when you return home.
