About GANDUL

German Shepherd / Rottweiler
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Gandul, a 2 year old, male, German Shepherd Mix, who is currently at the high kill Carson Shelter, in Gardena, California and is due to be euthanized on Thursday (June 21st), if no one is able to foster (provide a temporary home) and or adopt (provide a permanent home) for him. Gandul needs a home that is adult only, as he is very timid and fearful. Gandul is tolerant of other dogs but would prefer a home where he is the only dog (see the shelter's assessment results below). There is a rescue who is willing to save Gandul's life but they cannot do it without a foster and or adopter. Fostering is free as the rescue provides all of the necessities while the dog is in foster care. If you or someone you know is interested in fostering and or adopting this handsome dog, please send a message to the email listed below. Thank you! Good morning all, this is your 72 hour notice that Gandul A5162848, a 2 year old neutered German Shepherd mix is being considered for euthanasia, please try and have him rescued by June 22, 2018.Gandul was in the front of his kennel when he noticed the runner. He tried avoiding the runner and was fearful. He had his tail tucked, body trembled, cornered himself with his paw up and he continuously licked his lips. He tried avoiding eye contact and had to be closed in on one side. His body was fairly tense. After some coaxing the runner was able to go inside and remove the dog. He walked on leash nicely. Inside the play yard, he allowed the other dogs to greet him all at once. He was slightly tense in his body posture and his tail remained low during initial greetings. After being in the yard for a while, he kept very closely to the handlers and even sat on the handlers feet. When the other dogs would come near him, he would try sniffing them while leaning. He was not aggressive and solicited petting from the handlers. He was friendly, soft and did his own thing in the yard. His preferred playstyle is gentle/dainty and he is tolerant of the other dogs.
