About Jake

Jake the Kelpie really is an amazing dog. He is 7 months old and completely house broken. He's about 45 pounds right now but should hit around 65 -75 though he was husky in his litter so he might get a little bigger than that. I included a pic of what he should look like in a few months. He is brilliant and catches on to any trick or task almost immediately. Sweet and affectionate. Good lookin, muscular, athletic HOWEVER, these Australian Kelpies are herders and hard work is in their blood. i.e. lots of energy. Jake needs a farm with some cattle or sheep to herd or at least a lot of room to explore and play. I have a house in Longmont CO with a small yard. I have an OLD Kelpie, my 'Dakota', who is the greatest dog I ever saw. I thought a Kelpie puppy, Jake, would be a good idea. Well, I could use a little more real estate for him. Bottom line, it's not fair to Jake to keep him off the farm. It is what he was bred for. If you know about Kelpies you know there is no smarter breed on the planet. I have a lot invested in Jake but I will let him go free of charge to the right home and situation. Jake's parents are both NAAKR (North American Australian Kelpie Registry.) Jake has been neutered, up to date on his shots and he is 'chipped.' I want him to go to a FARM OR RANCH or similar situation. Please don't be offended if I ask you to prove where he will be living. I'll also want to check up on him once or twice. He really is a special animal. I will cry like a baby when he leaves but it will be best for him
