About Seth

Perked ears and tousled hair frame Seth's soft, sweet face. Rescued from a high-kill shelter, the quiet 25-pound terrier mix has been slowly accustoming himself to the safety of his foster home and to his humans' tender touch. While still guarded and shy, the more he trusts, the more playful he becomes and the more he enjoys pets on his neck and behind his ears, and even the odd belly rub. He now loves being close to his foster mom, eagerly following her through the house, and finds being spoken to in a calm, gentle voice especially soothing. Very excited whenever she comes home, he'll gaily perform little spin moves, jump around, and sometimes let out a bark or two! Favoring high value treats such as bacon, chicken, peanut butter and cheese, he will, if calmly coaxed, take them softly from her hand although he loves if they're put down in front of him. He also LOVES lounging in the large, fenced backyard, playing with the other dogs, chasing flies, going for walks once he's properly harnessed, and curling up in one of his 'safe' spots when he prefers to observe not participate. Still fearful of strangers and of being picked up, loud noises and sudden movements, and very much a flight risk, he is, however, fully crate and housetrained. With much still to learn, what sweet Seth needs now is a calm and nurturing home without children, with a securely fenced backyard, another dog as playmate and mentor, committed to winning his trust, continuing his education and keeping him mentally stimulated and physically satisfied fur-ever.
