About Emerson

Emerson is a very sweet dog that requires you to gain his trust. He needs a calm environment with absolutely no other dogs or cats and a yard to play in. He listens well, can complete simple commands and is fully housebroken. Due to his past, he can be unpredictably aggressive around other dogs. He can be standoffish but once you gain his trust and love he is sweet, loyal and loves to cuddle. He is somewhat okay around children, but becomes very agitated in any type of horse play or wrestling type play. Dog parks and walks are an option with him as recreation, but not only does he tire easily due to age, but he does not always get along with other dogs. He is fearful and anxious also due to his past but those outings can also eave room for unexpected encounters where he feels threatened and may lash out at other dog/dogs owner. I have had Emerson for a year, and he has been a joy and light in my life and I want and need him to go to a good home that fits his needs where he can live out the rest of his life.. I live in a small apartment where there are lots of dogs and it seems that it creates a lot of problems and anxiety for him. I hope to find him a home with someone who will care for him and love him like I do.
