About Tika

Our sweet Tika girl has been in foster care with one of our most amazing families for a little while now. We are SOO happy to report she is doing awesome AND READY FOR ADOPTION! For those of you unfamiliar with our girl Tika here is a quick background. Tika was found in Louisiana missing half of her mouth. It is very clear this was an animal attack of some kind. We are not sure exactly what happened and we honestly will never know. All we know is that she had a horrific past and has been given an amazing chance at a new life. We had Tika evaluated by multiple vets who all said her face is functional and that surgery to repair her was not necessary. We brought Tika up to Pennsylvania in hopes of finding her a forever family. While in her foster home she quickly befriended her human foster brother Chase and formed such an amazing bond. Chase has a history of helping to take care of a number of our foster pups, and Tika knew she could trust him. However Tika did not take to her furry foster brother Hunter so well. It took Tika weeks and lots of patience from her foster momma to accept that Hunter would not hurt her. She finally came around to it, and now trusts Hunter as well. Besides the face Tika is a very typical dog. She loves to play and please. She LOVES all of her toys and can even chew some up! Due to the injury Tika requires wet food. She can eat dry if it is soaked long enough and mixed with wet. If you are looking for an amazing dog with an amazing story please apply!
