Becky has a sponsor who has subsidized her fee to $25. Becky has experienced repeated sadness in the last 6 months. Her eyes show the resignation that the years of love and security that once enveloped her are lost. Will anyone ever again want her. When Becky's momperson passed away, she was devastated. Following this loss, Becky had to leave the home that was her familiar and safe place for many years. No one wanted Becky and her little companion friend Scooter. They came to the shelter and Becky tried to adjust to the new and lonely environment. The bright spot in her day was the short amount of time outside with her little friend. But Scooter was adopted and the loss of his comforting presence further crushed her spirit. Becky is desolate when in her kennel. When outside she runs the fenceline as though she is trying to escape from the reality of the losses in her life. Becky is 7 years old and weighs 60 lbs. She is a border collie mix. She is good with children and cats. She is good with most dogs but may take a bit of time to warm up to some until she feels confident in their presence. This need for adjust time with other dogs has cost her several potential homes as she was unable to instantly show signs of acceptance with the strange new dogs who would be her housemates. She is housebroken and leash trained. Becky came to the shelter Jan 3, 2018. More photos of Becky in Comments. Application can be submitted online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ or at the shelter. Adoption of all dogs/cats requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home appropriate for their needs and that will keep them safe. The process can take 1 to 3 days and for anyone traveling a distance to meet a dog/cat, it is suggested that the process be done first so that the applicant will know if they are approved to adopt. Each of our residents is loved and nurtured by our staff and volunteers during their stay with us and each is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. Adoption policies and application procedures are at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. All approved adopters must come to the shelter and accompany their new family member on the journey home. We do not ship nor do we transport.
