**SPECIAL NEEDS**DEAF BABY** Meet Maverick! This handsome little man is an 8 week old male Australian Shepherd Catahoula mix who is deaf. Goose was born with the double merle gene. His condition is a result of an unintentional litter with two merle coated parents. Sadly this is something we see all the time in the southern states and as a result many of the puppies end up deaf, blind, or both. Goose's eye sight is just fine but he is deaf. DON'T let his disability fool you though, he is still one of the sweetest boys you ever did meet. He has no problem navigating through life and with the proper training and patience he will be one of the best adults you have ever met. He is super friendly and loves just about everyone and everything he meets. He loves to snuggle and wants to be with you at all times. He never turns down a good belly rub. He loves to play and is full of puppy energy and is considered to be a high energy breed so an active family would be best for him. He is currently located down South at our sister shelters and available for pre-adoption. We do transports to NJ once a month. He can't wait to find his forever home!
