[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Hi there! My name is Nancy Bogaert. I have a small boarding business in Frankfort IL. One of my clients surrendered this wonderful 5.5 year old neutered Bloodhound boy. I currently foster for the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue, but as you can see he Is just a tad bit bigger than a Frenchie. Trusty is 5.5, Black and Tan bloodhound. He has epilepsy just diagnosed a month ago. He takes 100 mg of pheno 2x per day and he has had no seizures since. He is a beautiful boy. His prior family bought him at A pet store as a puppy. The phenobarbital runs about $30.00 per month. Trusty eats 2 cups of kibble 2x per day. He cannot free feed because otherwise it is difficult to monitor his weight. Trusty is 100 percent housebroken, wonderful with all other dogs and is not food aggressive. He rides wonderfully in a car and walks beautifully on a leash. I took him to My Vet to have a heartworm test, decal test and update his distemper. since she does vetting for the Frenchie Rescue. I had distemper given. He has had bordatella and is good on rabies until 2019. Doc wants to recheck his liver levels in August. Doc says eyes and ears look great. Trusty is truly a one in 1 million dog he is just absolutely wonderful. His family gave him up is because they have four children under the age of seven. They both work full time and at different times if the day. They simply do not have the time nor the means for this wonderful dog. There will be a $250.00 reigning fee so that I may recoup veterinary expenses and to ensure interested parties are committed to giving Trusty a wonderful home. trusty loves other dogs. He had a canine companion that passed and he was very depressed afterwards. I will only place Trusty in a home with another docile canine companion. Just by virtue of his size...112lbs, he will need to go to a family with no children under the age of 10. Trusty must have s fenced yard. That is non negotiable. I will give priority to homes that would have a sweet canine companion. Trusty loves to swim and plutch in the water, take short walks and take long naps.
