Please DO NOT INQUIRE WITHOUT READING THIS IN FULL!!! Millie is a brindle dachshund mix, 15 week old puppy. Her mother is also listed on Rescue Me as a fullbred Dachshund. She is also brindle and gorgeous! Mama Gracie was abandoned by her owners. They moved away and left her. She was one week from delivering. She came into Doxie Tales Rescue and delivered her puppies in my home. Millie - 15 weeks old, beautiful brindle like her dachshund mother, father is unknown, two healthy vet exams, all vaccines, wormed, microchipped, well socialized, extremely sweet, snuggler, loves to play with all people and dogs. She is doing fantastic with potty training - no joke! Millie is an excellent, smart, lovable, happy puppy! You must have Facebook to adopt through Doxie Tales Rescue. ADOPTION INFO AND REQUIREMENTS 1- Must be 24+ years of age. 2- Must own residence or provide written permission to adopt from landlord (with application.) 3- We adopt within the 48 States but transportation is the responsibility of the adopter. BOTH WAYS!!! (If for any reason you no longer can or want the dog, you must return them to our rescue by legal contract.) 4- An adoption application must be completed in full and approved (request app by sending Doxie Tales a private message.) 5- We check character and vet references. We ask your vet about current pets and/or recent pets - spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested annually, on RX heartworm meds, pet appropriate weight, is there anything the vet has ever suggested that owner did not do, etc..... 6- We interview the potential adopter and complete a home visit. 7- ALL current and recent pets must be spayed or neutered unless your pet has a medical condition, verified by a vet, not allowing the procedure (which is rare.) 8- ALL current pets must be up to date on vaccines and on monthly heart worm prevention unless there is a medical reason verified by your vet (which is rare.) 9- NOTE!!!!! In the case of puppies, younger or active adult dachshunds, we require adopters to have a SECURELY FENCED YARD! No electric or invisible fences permitted. SOME older dachshunds or seniors do not require a fenced yard. 10- We charge an adoption fee. Our fees range between $200 - $350 (range primarily depends on age.) 11- NOTE!!!! With puppies, our Vet will conduct a wellness exam, we will de-worm, and provide the first set of vaccines. The adopter will be required to complete the puppy vaccines and rabies vaccine at the appropriate age, we suggest 4 months. The adopter will be responsible for spaying or neutering not to exceed 6 months or 30 days past the first heat cycle. Documentation from the owners Vet will be provided to Doxie Tales Rescue after the spay or neuter is completed per the legal adoption contract. We do follow up!! 12 - It is important, appropriate and fair that you can afford a dog!! There is far more than the adoption fee required on their annual health. Dachshunds are notorious for needing annual dentals after the age of four - not cheap! We hope and pray your Doxie never has an illness or disease or back injury, but you must be able to afford the care in the case this ever occurs.
