About Rusty

Rusty is a big, sweet 3.5 year old Vizsla/lab rescue; he's been obedience trained and earned his Public Access Service Dog Card in 2016. My husband has had a heart attack, I have pulmonary and cardiac issues and we cannot give him the activity he needs to be a happy, healthy dog. He is NOT destructive (except to stuffed toys!) He has seasonal allergies and requires Apoquel to keep them under control, but other than that, he is a good dog; no potty issues at all. He loves ladies and takes a while to warm up to guys; adores little kids, especially if they'll play with him. Barks at strangers, but all show. Is absolutely super with cats, and great with all dogs, even teensy, nippy ones! UTD on vaccines and Maricopa Co. tags. (NB: Some who were interested in Rusty seemed intimidated by his raw diet, so I transitioned him back to kibble. Within two weeks, he developed his skin irritation and I have transitioned him back to raw/PMR. Unless you are willing to feed raw, this will not be the doggie for you. I will help with explanations and calculations for the proper diet if you decide that Rusty fits with your family. He is much happier and healthier on raw).
