About Compass

Adoption Fee: $175
Boxer / Schnauzer
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Compass was born on Columbus day, 9 Oct 17. His mother is Journey who came to rescue as a pregnant stray. He was adopted as a sweet baby and returned to rescue due to 'moving'. PLEASE consider the next 15 years when you consider adopting! We know his forever home will be found but all dogs deserve that from the get go. From Compass, I am just a Mutt. A Mongrel. A Mixed breed. You can call me whatever you want. The truth is, I am just a puppy and I will grow up to be whatever this world affords me to be. I pray that is a part of a family. I've already had a tough life. My mom was found astray in North Dakota of all places heavily pregnant with winter on the horizon. Thankfully a wonderful person brought her to For Belle's Sake Rescue where I was born. They have taken pretty good care of me here but the truth is'|I want my own family. Have you ever had to share everything with 6 brothers and sisters? My rescue mom calls me a clown. I like to run as fast as I can and often run right into the sensors for the garage door. Whoever put those there is at fault. Anyway, she gets really mad when she can't close the garage door after I run zoomies. I know I probably don't stand much of a chance at a family. I am a brindle mixed breed. There's hundreds out there looking for homes, just like me. I am not special. My rescue mom at least looks into my eyes and says 'this one might be lucky, he doesn't blend in'. Whatever that means. So'|what do I think makes me different aside from the obvious coloring of my coat? Let me tell you. I will be yours. I will love you unconditionally. I will be your best friend. I will grow with you, make you laugh, make you love. I will even make you frown, maybe pull your hair out, and get frustrated sometimes. But that's ok. Because we will be together and together we will grow wiser. I will teach you patience, and you will teach me manners. I will show you what it is like to be loved unconditionally'|because you deserve that. On your worst day, I will love you. On your best day, I will love you the same. When you come home, I will act like I haven't seen you in a year, even if you were just in the bathroom for 5 minutes. Doors should be destroyed. Because you will mean that much to me. You will be my everything. I hope that I will be yours and that the same devotion will be given to me. Sure, I am a young pup now and hella cute, but my life is a mere 15 years. I hope you will give me those 15 years. I hope I will mean the same to you in 10 years as the day I was adopted. I hope that when these cute fuzzy puppy hairs turn to grey, I am still yours. Because in my heart, you will still be mine. My rescue family has done a pretty good job with exposing me to life. I have met goats, chickens and ducks (no comment), cats, lots of other dogs, and children too! They are doing their best to socialize me at a young age so that I can join your family and you can continue to help me grow and be well adjusted. My rescue mom says 'this is a vital time in my development'. Whatever that means. But by all means, do not expect me to be perfect. I will need training. I like to jump up to say hello and am a 'busy boy'. And where the nose goes I goes. I am uncoordinated. But I am smart. And I am eager to please. I look great in a bowtie! I want to be your sidekick. I want to be your pride and joy. I want to be your best friend. Will you be mine? From my rescue mom: These sweet pups all need and deserve long term, loving homes. If you fit the bill, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. A DNA test (not highly accurate) was done on one puppy. Keep in mind, a female can mate with several males meaning there could be different fathers for each pup so we tested a black and white one'|because, well, there are 5 of them. The mother is estimated to be a schnauzer, collie, staffie mix. The father of the one is estimated as a lab, boxer, staffie. They are truly Mutts of the best kind. Adult sizes cannot be estimated and breeds cannot be guaranteed. A puppy is a 15+ year (God willing) commitment. If interested in providing that to a pup in need, we cannot wait to hear from you. We do our best to expose all of the pups in our care to daily life but they are not guaranteed housetrained (ever tried to housetrain 30 dogs'|we haven't either. I am still trying to get my 4 sons to hit the mark ;). If a yard is present, a secure fence is required. A leash at all times when not in a fenced area and absolutely no tie-outs. The adoption fee for all dogs at For Belle's Sake Rescue is $175. We do not breed discriminate or base adoption fees on our medical expenses provided to their care. One dog may cost several thousand to save while another a few hundred. Eit
