About Molly

Domestic Cat
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Molly is a long haired sweet affectionate ball of fluff! Molly came to GGOH as a pull from the American Humane Society euthanasia list - she was on their list because she has diabetes. Diabetes is a manageable condition and in no way should she have been put down because of it. Sadly, Molly's surrender to the AHS was not her first surrender - Molly had actually had four previous homes before coming to GGOH. When we read her story and how so many had given up on her, we just could not sit idly by and let them end her life. We promised Molly on the day we picked her up, on her freedom ride to GGOH, that we would not let her down, that we would make sure that if Molly ever left GGOH, that she would go to a loving family who would see her life through to it's natural end. Molly deserves all the love we've been showering on her - she is so sweet and such a trooper when it comes to receiving her daily meds. It just breaks our hearts to know that she was given up on so many times - we made her a promise and we intend to keep it. Molly is a large girl with a long fluffy coat. Due to her size, her belly can become tangled if not groomed regularly. When Molly arrived at GGOH she was full of mats and we chose to shave her to relieve her of those painful nasties. She did great with shaving and we feel that would be a good choice for her going forward as well. Molly is friendly and gentle. She loves to be talked to and petted. She's not real active due to her age and size, so if you're looking for a calm, quiet companion, and you are willing to give her daily meds, she would be perfect for you! Please don't let Molly's diabetes scare you off - we have been working with her for several months to get her meds regulated and we have had no trouble whatsoever administering them. If you have questions about diabetes and how to manage this condition, we would be more than happy to educate you on the routine we follow with Molly as prescribed by her veterinarian.
