About Ruby

Hello, my name is Ruby, a red tri Australian Shepherd. I am 16 months old and weigh 49 lbs. I live in Maryvile, TN but city living it not for me because I bark at the neighbors too much. I love to play fetch with balls or sticks or anything you throw. Giving it back is a challenge but we are working on it. I love to run and have great recall. I do get excited when we have visitors but my mom has been teaching me 'off. I am a velcro dog, so wherever you are, so am I. I will never leave your side. I may even try to herd you. I love to get frisky and run in circles when I want to play. It must not be fun for my masters because they wait until I calm down before they play with me. They always reward me for being a good girl. I love pets and will nudge you. I am great with little kids and little dogs, a bit shy around big dogs and even like some cats. I don't jump on furniture because I have hip dysplasia but my masters manage it with yummy supplements. I have no problem running at all, just jumping. My fur is silky soft and I get bathed about every 2 months. I like food and will perform for treats. I know most commands like sit, come, down, leave it, look and stay. Stay is the hardest because I don't like my mom walking away from me. I'm a good girl, never chewed on furniture or clothes, just pieces of paper sometimes. My mom gives me stuff to chew on but beef bones are my favorite. I like to hide them in the furniture, I don't think my maters know. I am housebroken and sleep through the night and get up early to start the day. Sometimes my masters put me on a lead because I bark at the neighbors, but running and playing is my favorite. I am an indoor dog and it's important that I stay that way. FYI , like a lot of other dogs, loud noises like fireworks scare me, so please keep me inside when that's happening. I know you will love me as much as my masters do now. They love me very much but know that I need a more active lifestyle.
