Maxwell is a CATCH! Don't miss out on this big boy looking for a new companion. He is 5 years old and weighs 85lbs. Maxwell is a gentle giant presumed shepherd mix or Great American Shelter dog who can't wait to find a new family! His former family included middle-school aged kids, cats, and dogs. He is described as being a bit skittish, but protective of his home and family. He is potty trained and crate trained, and used to spending most time in an outdoor kennel. He loves to play and run and go on car rides! Maxwell can be a bit excitable around other dogs, but if they can hang with his antics, then he can make new friends (easier with females than males). When first meeting people, Maxwell can be a bit nervous, but once you're 'in' he'll be your BFF! Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter, 1420 Brookside Blvd. Grants Pass/Merlin, across from the Grants Pass Airport. Hours: 10 AM - 4 PM Monday - Saturday. You are encouraged to visit and bring your dog to the shelter for a meet and greet where staff is ready to assist on the walking trails and play yards. With few exceptions, all adoptable adults are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. 541 474-5458 Adoption fee for dogs are $125, for seniors over 7 years $50, for Veterans with presentation of government issued ID $62.50. Note: unless otherwise noted, we can not say if dogs do well with other dogs, livestock, chickens or cats.
