About Tucker

Australian Cattle Dog / Jack Russell
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're on the streets fighting for their lives. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great New Mexico rescuers in saving Tucker...they could see that his temperament was so sweet and engaging that she couldn't allow him to fall in harm's way on the scary highways of New Mexico. Tucker is such a sweet and endearing spirit who cuddles against you for love and security. Tucker was immediately brought to be vetted and then taken to a great New Mexico foster home to receive pure love and begin his education. Tucker is just about 6 - 8 months old and currently weighs 20 lbs (he is expected to be approximately 28 - 32 lbs when full-grown). He is engaging and so very sweet that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster family. Tucker's foster mom had the following to say about this sweetie-pie: I have two dog-crazy daughters that are 10 and 12. We foster many puppies, but their pure-love reaction to Tucker is heartwarming to watch! Their friends come by and everyone has a blast in the yard...and then after an hour or so, I find all of them on the couch with Tucker tucked in between just cuddling. Tucker is cute as a button and so silly. His foster has said they haven't turned on the TV since Tucker came to their house...he's so entertaining and fun-loving. He is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Tucker continues this regimen of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...he will be a well-adjusted and very loving adult companion. Tucker is an adorable and super-loving puppy with the cutest antics ever. He has a coat (with the greatest red markings) that speaks of youth and good health. Tucker's silly and super- smart demeanor (so typical of the herding dog and Terrier breeds) is just who he is. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Tucker will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this sweet and cuddly pup. We feel it's very important that Tucker is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Positive reinforcement group training classes will provide Tucker with a foundation for great behavior and bonding with his family. Farfel's will provide a list of positive reinforcement (force-free) trainers in your area. Tucker will be overjoyed with one day hiking along the gorgeous trails of Colorado. We'd like a home that's active and desires a full-time companion for activities and loving! A family that spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities would be perfect for this loyal and very sweet guy. Tucker can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. Tucker will be up to date on his vetting. We're hoping that he will be neutered when he arrives from New Mexico, however a puppy is often deemed too young to neuter. If this is the case, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Tucker to be fixed and microchipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation. Tucker will be arriving on transport in Denver in mid-June. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out application and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Tucker please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
