About Happy

Happy is a 4.5 year old border terrier mix who recently came to the rescue when his previous family was no longer able to care for him. He was found roaming the streets and we were told by numerous people that his owner went to jail. Happy is a happy, friendly, and mellow guy. He loves to just lounge around the house, venture outside, loves walks, rides great in the car, and also loves his people. Happy has been around other dogs his size and smaller, but a dog introduction is recommended to make sure it is a good fit. He is fully housebroken, with or without a dog door. He is great on the leash. He is a very loyal boy that attaches quickly. We think his previous life wasn't very consistent or normal and he longs for that consistency and to have him person/family. Happy's ideal home would be a home with another dog with his type of personality, big or small, and with people who aren't gone more then 8 hours a day. He does need a 6ft brick wall fenced secure yard (no chain link). He does not like to be kenneled, but he is a well behaved boy so kenneling isn't needed. He would do well in an active or a quiet home. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, licensed and vet checked. His adoption fee is $40. His adoption includes a free vet visit and 30 days of free pet insurance. To meet him come to our shelter location 1102 W Hatcher Rd open Tuesday to Sunday 11-6. Call for location on the weekends as we have off site adoption events some of our dogs attend.
