About Selah

We adopted Selah from a local animal shelter when she was 5 mos old. She did really well with the our other dog and she did well with our cats pretty much from the get go. She has always done great with our two kids, ages 7 and 11 now and their friends. About a month after we brought her home she received an aggressive do ticket for biting a pig that got off-leash on its ear at the park (I will be happy to provide more details about the incident). In November we adopted another rescue dog, who after we had him for four days attacked her and almost killed her (again, I am happy to provide all the details surrounding this attack). She has since fully recovered, which is miracle in and of itself. Since the incident, she has become more fearful and anxious. She shows fence line aggression and aggression towards little ones (under 5). She has a strong desire to chew and requires a lot chew toys and ropes. She is super sweet, funny and smart. She knows basic commands, although she is stubborn when she wants do what she wants to do. She loves to run and hike. She needs a gentle leader on walks because she pulls. We cannot afford to give her the training and the time she requires to help her. We are an active family and it has gotten to the point that we cannot take her with us anymore because of her temperament. This also means that we are limited on people we can invite into our home. Selah will not be adopted to just anyone. We want her to go to a loving home (or rehab) that is especially familiar with her breed, behaviors and is willing to take the time to train her.
