About Perry

Perry is a 4 year old Chihuahua. He is a small guy at just 9 pounds. Perry came to us from a shelter in Topeka, Kansas where he was being overlooked by adopters and was scared in the shelter environment. He was very happy to get to his foster home with other Chihuahuas and Chihuahua loving foster parents. We quickly noticed that one of Perry's back legs was not as muscular as the other one. Even though he used it there was something different about it. We took him to the vet and had it x-rayed. His leg had been broken in three places but had already healed. Perry uses the leg and isn't in any pain. From the look of the break we feel that it was caused at human hands. It is no wonder it takes Perry some time to trust new people. Perry is shy with new people and is skittish until he knows someone. Because of this and his small size, his new home should not have children under the age of 12. Perry gets along with other dogs, but for his safety his new home should not have large dogs. His new home will need a fenced area where he can get outside safely while he is adjusting to his new environment. Like most Chihuahuas Perry likes to be burrowed under a blanket or be on a lap. Perry is housetrained and crate trained. Perry is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.
