About Barry

Are you a water fan?! Wanna adopt a dog to tag along on your H20 adventures? Here's the pup for you! His name is Barry and he sure does love the water! The only thing that Barry asks for is a life-jacket for when he is swimming and cannot touch the bottom. He loves swimming but has been known to sink a lil' bit! So, not only does he love the water, Barry is SO smart! He knows hand signals! He will sit, come, stay, lay down, shake paws, speak, and he can even catch a bone off of his nose! He is intelligent and is very willing to work hard for treats! Barry takes a minute to acclimate to new people. He can be barky initially but learns to trust quickly with the help of yummy reinforcement! He used to live with smaller children and excused himself when he was ready for downtime. We do think that any kiddos in the home should be about 8 and older for Barry. He is accustomed to sleeping in his crate and seems to enjoy his own space in it! He also used to live with a couple of female dogs and a cat. One of the pups was older, too, and he was respectful of her. We are continuing to watch his dog interactions at the shelter, too! Here are some of Barry's favorite activities: He loves squeaky toys. He also loves to snuggle and believes that his spot is right on your lap. He is loving and goofy and extremely loyal. The ideal home for Barry would be an active one. He has a good level of energy and likes to see the sights! He is about 6 years old and is neutered. We know he would be a great first mate on the boat - you gotta come meet this awesome dude!
