About Penny

Penny is a loving child+dog friendly animal who loves to play and needs a big yard to run in. She's been around all three of my children since they were newborns and has been extremely gentle and affectionate towards them. My one year old daughter feeds her, and Penny gingerly takes the treats from her tiny little girl hands. My twins used to body slam her when they were 1-2 years old! And she would growl and stalk off with her tail between her legs ( I of course would scold them, but sometimes they would jump on her and try to excite her by pulling her tai when I wasn't looking, and she never even growled at them, even when they were being unacceptably rough ). I have a small JRT + Chihuahua mix that she play fights roughly with, but she has never hurt him, and he usually instigates the fights with her! The two of them are best friends, and after biting each others necks playfully for hours, they share food gently and sleep on top of each other. In other words, she is very aware of different social situations and acts appropriately. I have no idea how she is with cats. Shes high energy, and plays hard with dogs. But, with kids she's gentle. And when there were mice in my house last winter she was afraid to catch them, my little terrier mix would kill them. I am considering moving to Manhattan for a great job opportunity, and I don't think she'll be happy there. I am posting this ad to see if there is anyone in the area who could give a nice home to Penny. She would be best suited for someone with lots of space who enjoys playing with a dog, ideally someone who has another playful dog because she'll tire you out quick. I take her to doggy daycare for exercise some days, but that can be pricey. Penny has a very interesting personality, a combination of playful aggression, unfaltering affection, but also anxiety. She is a great dog, and I would love for you to come by and meet her so you can fully understand her personality. She is quite different from other dogs I've owned, and is a very interesting and lovable dog.
