I'm a super cute 6 month old lab/heeler mix rescued from a local high kill shelter. When I was turned into the shelter the people there were told I was a lab/heeler mix but my foster mom says she's pretty sure I have some other breeds mixed in and it would be really cool to do a DNA test on me to find out. My foster mom says I'm very sweet, a little shy at first but I warm up real quick. She says that I have some really neat markings and that's what made her pick me! I'm about 30 lbs right now and may get to be about 60 lbs is the best guess. We're still getting to know each other but some things she said to mention is that I like other dogs and would do well with a more experienced dog to show me what's right and wrong for a puppy to do. I can tell you that I like girl doggies a little bit more than boys, but I have both as foster siblings and we are all doing great together. There are some kitties here that I like to investigate. If I see one hanging around I'll go up and give it a good sniff to say hi. I love the game of chase when they run but I would never hurt them. My foster mom says that since the kitties don't run and hide from me that I'll do fine living with one, as long as they don't mind some puppy breath. I'm learning to play with toys. I was a little unsure what to do with them at first, but now I've become an expert toy hoarder. I like playing with all kinds of ropes, Kongs, stuffed, and balls! Sometimes I'll even through the toy myself just so I can chase it. I'm not fully house trained but I'm working on it. I am good in a crate too. Not my favorite thing to get into but I get a treat and that makes it better. I settle down pretty quick too and am quiet all night long. I'm also learning to walk on a leash. Not quite sure where I'm supposed to be so kind of walk all over the place but my foster mom says that with practice and proper training I'll be a pro in no time! I'm up to date with all my shots, microchipped, on flea and heartworm preventative and will be neutered soon so I'll be ready for my new home any day now!
