About Chloe

Chloe, the 8-9 yr old Rat Terrier mix came into our care not too long ago and has had a very rough past. In 2014, she came into a local shelter as a stray and was never claimed. Shortly after, she was adopted by a man who had good intentions in the beginning but ended up leaving her kenneled most of the day while he was at work. He then ended up giving her to a couple that were not good to Chloe at all. She was then taken in by a couple that were once friends with them because they had witnessed them physically kick her. Keep in mind, this sweet senior girl is the most loving and gentle dog in the world and only weighs about 10 pounds. She also can't see or hear very well. The previous couple were involved with drugs and it's been brought to our attention that they may have forced this little girl to take meth. It's cases like this that really break your heart because of everything this animal has been through. They all deserve a loving, forever home but she deserves an extra special person to give her everything she should of had from day 1. Chloe doesn't walk like a normal dog, but that doesn't stop her from getting around the house. Her back legs are very stiff, sometimes she even loses her balance and we're not quite sure if it's a side affect from the drugs, past physical trama, or a combination of both but our vet did check her over and she does have some issues with her spine and disks in her back. Besides a pretty interesting past and some possible issues with her back legs, Chloe is a very happy and healthy girl! She is now in search of a forever home to call her own with someone who's very understanding of her special needs. Chloe is spayed and is completely UTD on vaccinations and microchipped. She is very well behaved and loves every human she meets, including children, but would love a quiet environment without young children where she can live out her senior years in a calm home. She's completely housebroke and is so good in the house that she doesn't need to ever be crated. She does great with cats and the other dogs of all sizes, but due to her issues, age, and size, she would prefer a home without young/active dogs. Chloe needs a home without lots of stairs and would LOVE to be with someone who can sit home and hold her all day, everyday. She will need someone who can help lift her on and off of furniture because she shouldn't jump. We know she'll make a perfect companion for someone willing to open their home and heart to this unique, docked tailed, girl. She may be older but don't let her age fool you, she has many years of love to give!
