OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi! My name is Adeline but everyone calls me Addie. When you see me at the Adoption Center you will think I am scared and unfriendly. That's because I am! I really do not like being there. When I get away from the Adoption Center it takes me a while, but I become a different pup. I've been in a new foster home the past few days (as of 1.10.19) and my foster mom thought someone did a dog switcheroo during the night when she woke up this morning. I came out of my crate smiling and with my tail wagging! I'm not 100% comfortable yet but things are looking up. I give foster mom kisses and she gives me belly rubs. Pretty good trade off. There are two small dogs in my foster home (one of whom is old and sometimes grumpy) and I've gotten along fine with them. I like to take walks and see the sights around the 'hood. I sleep all night in my crate and sometimes will go in there for a nap during the day. I discovered a pile of pillows that makes a pretty comfy nap spot! I will sit when asked and like baby carrots as a treat. I found a box of toys and am enjoying taking them out and spreading them around the house. I wish I was a pup who could go home with you and be your instant snuggle buddy - but I'm not. If you give me a chance and are patient with me, I will learn to trust and love you. And then whoa - look out!! I would do best in a home with another young dog because once I'm comfortable I do like to play! Adeline is a female Terrier/Poodle mix that we estimate to be born around 3/3/2018 and weighs about 15 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
