About Daisy

Children must be 10 years and up; shows potential with cats Recovered from TPLO surgery and ACL repair January 2018 Howdy, my name is Daisy and I am a gal who knows what I like. I came to Washington County Humane Society in Slinger, WI as a stray and I have to admit I do like to wander. You see, as a hound dog, I have a magnificent nose and when I find something interesting I will follow it for miles. So, I am counting on you to keep me safe and keep me on a leash when we are out and about. I like to play with other dogs and even lived with a few in my foster home. I tend to get the zoomies and race around the house with the other dogs. If there are any cats in my new home, I will need to be retested to see how I react. I showed potential with cats on my first test here but because of my breed they want to be extra careful. I am looking for a calm, quiet home so any children in my new family should be 10 years or older. I take a little time to feel safe and comfortable in new places and situations so I am hoping for a patient owner who will help me blossom. I am tolerant of strangers but I am kind of a one-person dog; I will bond very closely with my favorite and special person. Once I am comfortable, I am an active gal with a strong voice and lots to say. I tolerate handling from people in general and will be patient but if my special person wanted to cuddle I think I would melt into them. I don't think 44 pounds is too big for a lap-dog, do you? I have excellent manners with my food bowl and other valuable resources. I also had the opportunity to work on house-training in my foster home and I did very well. With a consistent schedule and good protocol, I just know I can get to 100%. I am very comfortable in a crate so that is a wise choice for me when I am alone. I have also started clicker training and know the cues for 'sit', 'down' and 'wait'; I am very smart. I am a stunning girl with beautiful markings and I know I will make the perfect companion for someone. I am energetic and will need plenty of exercise to keep me calm and undemanding; otherwise I could be a rambunctious handful. That is a very positive thing for someone who wants to be active and lead a healthy and dynamic lifestyle. I may be a tad shy when we first meet but take it slow, offer me a hot dog and in no time we will be fast friends.
