About Maximus & Titus

Adoption Fee: $50.00
Maine Coon
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Must be adopted together! Pure bred Maine Coon cats, four years old, male, neutered brothers. I rescued the cats from a neglectful environment two months ago. I've since discovered I have allergies to the cats which I've been unable to alleviate, so I'm looking for a foster home or a forever home for them. Maximus is the larger of the two boys. He's very confident and comfortable in a stable environment but he can be defensive and somewhat aggressive if he feels scared or uncertain. He shows no visible signs of health issues and has a good appetite but he's not comfortable with the vet or an exam. Titus is the smaller of the two boys at about 12 or 13 lbs. Both boys had not been brushed for sometime leading up to the time I took possession them. Titus needed to be shaved on his stomach and sides to remove mats and the rest of his hair was trimmed as well. His hair is growing back very silky, soft and beautiful. Titus was fine with the grooming process, he enjoys being brushed and it's very easy to cut his nails. Titus has had a few bouts of diarrhea, some vomiting and much scratching do to itchy skin. The vet believes Titus has colitis perhaps due to food sensitivities, he's being tested this week to identify which foods may need to be removed from his diet. I'm not aware that the cats have been exposed to other cats or dogs so they probably need to be the only pets in the home. Titus maybe okay with children, I don't know for certain? Max's temperament is better suited to adults. They are good with the litter box and I have transitioned them from sand litter to pine litter. They do enjoy sleeping on the bed with their person/people. The boys are absolute beauties, they are very affectionate and enjoy being close and spending time with people. Their new family should have prior experience owning and living with cats. The cats need to be fostered or adopted together. Interested parties must be willing to relocate the cats themselves.
