Ember came to us by way of the pound. We wanted to get a new family member and so we went all over looking for a dog that was good with our kids (two, five and eleven at the time). When all the other dogs we met wanted nothing but to run around and play she wanted to hang out with us. Ember seemed to really enjoy playing with our kids. Moreover, now that she has been a part of our family, she has been such a big part of our lives. Before we were honored to have her in our family, we are told, Ember was the under the care of a young child. When he moved off to college she stayed with his grandma and after time, was given to the local shelter. At the shelter she was selected to be given special training. Armed with a list of commands she moves about the family with little need of them. She can anticipate our needs. When we come home she greets us with a happy wag of the tail and affectionate rub before motioning to the back door to be let our. We are all going to miss her. :( **
