About Brutus

Brutus is a 1 year old cairn terrier mix who is looking for his perfect forever home! Brutus came to us as a stray, and upon arrival we noticed this poor boy was completely covered in ticks! He was immediately given a good tick bath and has his ticks pulled and a vet appointment was scheduled. Bloodwork came back showing that Brutus had one of the highest titer counts for tick fever he had ever seen. Brutus was given Bravecto and treated with Doxycycline for 39 days before he was retested. Sadly, bloodwork still showed active tick fever. Luckily, tick fever is NOT contagious & all Brutus will need is to continue his Doxycycline for up to 60-90 days and he is a happy, otherwise healthy boy. Brutus is available for adoption to the right family who will continue his medicine daily and follow up with our vet for his next round of bloodwork which the rescue will be covering at our vet. Brutus is a friendly and outgoing boy who loves people, but really loves the company of other dogs and needs a home where he will have a doggy playmate. Brutus is a young and active boy who would be happiest with a yard to run and play in. Brutus would love to go for walks and join his family on trips to the park. He is a very sweet and affectionate boy who will make both the perfect play mate and cuddle buddy for his new family. Brutus came to us as a stray, so he may not be house broken and will need patience while he learns and adjusts to life in his new home. Brutus weighs in at 13 pounds and is full grown. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, vet checked, and goes home with his next round of Doxycycline. His adoption fee is $260. His adoption includes a free vet visit as well as 30 days of free pet insurance and his next round of bloodwork at our vet.
