About Stormy

Stormy (roughly 2-3 years old as of April, 2018) is a spayed female black long haired cat. This petite girl showed up in a neighborhood not quite full grown in fall of 2016 and slowly befriended a group of neighbors who started feeding her and trying to tame her. Unfortunately before they could get her fixed she had a litter of kittens last fall and was caught as a nursing mom with three adorable kittens who were adopted out quickly. Although she's small enough to pass for a 5 month old kitten herself little Stormy was not as friendly as the kittens she raised in foster care and has been hard at work learning to trust people more to prepare for life as a pampered pet cat. It's been a challenge- she spent the first month in her new foster home after her kittens were adopted hiding under the bed but she has slowly progressed to loving to be petted and even voluntarily climbing into her foster mom's lap for a little while every evening. Thankfully she loves to have her long hair brushed and is very good about being held to have her claws trimmed but she is still nervous when being approached out in the open and sometimes needs people to patient and wait for her to come to them. She is a calm girl who enjoys spending most of her day looking out windows but still likes to have fun with cat toys and a laser pointer. She has done fine with cats and dogs visiting her as long as they aren't too aggressive and with a slow introduction should be a good fit with most other pets. Younger children would probably have a hard time winning her trust however so we think a home with adults and maybe teens would be a better fit for her. Fully vetted, FIV/FeLV negative.
