Honey was found in a ditch half dead, with so many puncture wounds it was horrible. Our guess was she was made to fight or was a bait dog, either way she was used and dumped to die. Honey is currently at the vets office but this cannot be a permanent place for her. She is not in the best health. We have discovered she has kidney disease, which can be easily managed over time. Most importantly she is not trusting of other dogs at this time. Sometimes she will interact with them, and at other times becomes agitated. It is likely a combination of not feeling well and being beat up by other dogs. Honey needs a place to rest and recuperate. If she cannot find a place to go, we will have to consider what is best for her at that point. Being in a kennel at the vet is NOT what she needs right now in order to reach her full potential as a happy, healthy dog. The vet and staff have said she DEFINITELY has that potential!!! We all believe in her!!! *MAY 2018 UPDATE**Over the past several months, Honey has made HUGE improvements. She likes puppies and dogs smaller than her, but is still intimidated by dogs her size or larger. She is doing better, health wise, but is STILL living at the vet clinic. She needs someone to give her a chance before she regresses! She has SOO much love to give!
