About Benny the Warrior

It is so frustrating when you don't know anything about the history of a cat - where exactly did it come from, why was it roaming outside, why isn't the original owner looking for this magnificent cat? And then you think to yourself: That's because they don't deserve this cat! They let an unneutered male Bengal get out and roam around, essentially having to fend for himself. What we know is that a lady who feeds a feral cat colony saw this cat show up at one point. He continued to show up for several weeks, until one day, when she saw him, he looked like he was in a bad fight with another animal. The suspicion is that Warrior Benny had a very bad encounter with a raccoon, and has the battle scars to prove it. The lady contacted a rescue; they were able to trap Benny and the rescue took him into foster care. Benny's foster mom took him to the vet immediately, where, to the astonishment of the foster mom, the vet identified Benny as a Bengal cat after hearing his loud howling and taking a look at this handsome cat. Since he has some white on his paws and on his chest, he is a Bengal mix, not a purebred Bengal. It was quite obvious that he is a friendly fella and that he clearly doesn't belong outside with a feral colony. So now this Warrior cat has been neutered (about time!), had all of his shots, and tested FIV/FeLV negative - YAY! His foster mom spent a lot of time nursing him back to health. He will probably proudly display some of his battle scars for life, but he has mostly healed very nicely and didn't require any stitches for his wounds. The vet estimated his age between 6-8 years old. In typical Bengal fashion, he has quickly stolen his foster mom's heart and although she is very tempted, she would prefer NOT to become a 'foster failure' since she already has other cats and dogs to take care of. She says that Benny follows her around (like a kitty-dog), he is independent, does not want to be in a lap (it seems that most Bengals are just too busy to want to stay on someone's lap), but always wants to be around her. He is a Warrior cat with a super attitude�'�|or should we say cattitude. Benny gets along with the other cats and dogs, though he seems to be almost disinterested in the cats. We know that he will make an awesome companion to some lucky adopter. He will do best with an adopter who is already familiar with the engaging Bengal nature.
