About Ava Mae

My name is Ava Mae and I am a large, lovely, and loving Labrador mix who is looking for a family to call my own! If you are on the search for a dog that is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly, I am the girl for you! I am four years old, and 90 pounds of love and affection. I have stunning velvet black fur and a beautiful smile that will melt your heart and make you say 'awwwww!' If my pretty looks don't win you over, my fun and affectionate personality certainly will! I came to Fetching Tails Foundation after my previous owners had to surrender me to the shelter because they were moving and could no longer keep me. I am having so much fun soaking up the love in my foster home and I can't wait to find my real forever home now! I have a pretty perfectly balanced energy level: I enjoy fun games of fetch and playing with my favorite toys (so it would be nice to have a fenced yard) but then I am perfectly content to curl up in my doggie bed (or even better next to you on the couch!) for a nap. I am also a big fan of belly rubs and hope my forever family will enjoy doling them out! I am a friendly, outgoing girlie, too, and love every person and dog friend I meet on walkies in the neighborhood. My foster momma jokingly calls me wiggles because I am so happy to be with my favorite people that my tail-end never stops wagging! I currently live with two human boys (aged 9 and 11) and we adore each other; I would make a great family pet if you have some kiddos in your home. I also currently live with a cat, too and am playful with her as well. What can I say? I have a big heart and love everyone! I must say, I have pretty amazing manners, too. I don't mean to brag, but foster momma says they are, in fact, the best manners! I am potty trained, and nap in a bedroom while my foster momma is at work for up to seven hours. I know a couple commands and love to learn so maybe we could have fun taking some classes together to learn even more! I have a lot of love and joy to bring to the lucky family that adopts me, and I just cant wait to start our happily ever after together. So what are you waiting for?
