*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Greetings, friends and future family! My name is Alistair, and I am a handsome, loving chap who is looking for a special family to call my own! I am a stunning 2-year-old Lab mix, and I weigh in at a healthy 65 pounds. I have luxurious black fur, but in the sunlight I look like dark chocolate as my undercoat is brown. I also have some soft white speckles here and there which add lovely highlights to my frame! But I bet you noticed my sweet smile and soulful eyes in my picture first, didn't you? That sums me up pretty well: sweet and soulful! My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where I was brought after being found as a stray on someone's porch. I gotta say, I love rescue life and am much happier in my foster home than I was at the busy, overcrowded shelter! I am a shy guy and love the one-on-one attention I receive from my loving foster parents. I am what you might call a cuddle machine, and love to snuggle up to my favorite people as much as possible. But I also enjoy playtime just as much and my favorite games include fetch and especially tug of war. When I think of my forever home, my biggest dream is to have a yard with a tall privacy fence where I can play zoomies and my favorite games with my attentive humans! I would also do best as your one and only canine companion so I can have all your attention for myself; I get along with calm dogs after a slow introduction so if you have a chill pup we can have a doggie date to see if our personalities match! I would also love to have a quiet, calm adult-only home with people who can help me continue to boost my confidence level and love on me as much as I love to love them. I am an active, but also very affectionate fellow! I have great household manners and am crate and potty trained. I also know a few commands including sit, shake paw, yes, no, and good boy! Since I am on the young side and working on my confidence, Fetching Tails will require my adopters to sign me up for training classes where we can learn and bond together! I think it will be great fun; I want to learn to be more social in public settings and it will be a great learning experience for us. I am a very smart boy and bet we could be class valedictorians in no time! More than anything, I want a family that will enjoy lots of play time, snuggles, and my affectionate attention!
