About Rye

Rye is a 1 year old Jack Russell terrier mix who is looking for the perfect loving forever home. Rye is a sweet and loving boy! He loves affection, ear scratches, rope/tug toys, and tennis balls. Rye loves to play and enjoys outside time if his people are with him. Rye has some separation anxiety and will pace in circles if left away from his people too long, so he will do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. Rye is kennel trained, but does not like his kennel when he can't see his people. He is not a snuggler or hugger but he loves to be with his person and will lay on the floor near your feet or along side you on the sofa. Rye will need a home with no children due to a prior bite incident in his previous home, but has shown no aggression towards our staff or volunteers. Rye does prefer women, and may likely favor the ladies in his home. Rye knows how to use a doggy door, and is housebroken. Rye is good with other dogs both big and small, but is not good with cats. He is an independent boy who can be protective of his family. Rye weighs 22 pounds full grown. He would love a home where he goes hiking, for walks or runs, maybe even camping! He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. He comes with 30 days of free pet insurance, and comes with a free vet visit as well. His adoption fee is $220.
