About Gracie

Manx
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Gracie is a spayed, female Manx (tail-less), is DECLAWED IN FRONT (so she's never been outdoors). She needs a new home asap due to my declining health! It's too dangerous for me for me to care for her (feed/water and clean the litter box) due to my loss of balance and falling) so she has been moved to a Rescue to wait for her new family. Breaks my heart to part with Gracie, but I have no choice--she is the best companion animal I've ever had! She is approx 10 yrs old-- I don't think of her as a senior cat since she's pretty active. I rescued her from a bush as a kitten so I can't prove she's a purebred Manx but in reading about the breed her traits/looks are spot on. She always uses her (shared) litter-box and makes sure to cover those who don't cover their deposits-she's quite fastidious! She has had her shots. She is affectionate, active/engaged, loves a lap, slept at the bottom of my bed most nights, and is curious but is not one to get into everything. She talks/trills softly, a Manx trait; loves to watch birds/squirrels and other critters out the window. She hides when new people come around but curiosity gets the best of her and she comes back out--mostly, to see if this new person will scratch or play with her. Great for an older person/couple as she does not get underfoot but she will follow you around and anticipate your every move. Her only down side issues are she has chewed through a few of my phone charger cords (the thin/narrow ones), she will eat the feathers off of any toy before you can say 'Oh my!' and she likes the sound of chewing plastic sacks. She doesn't eat them, just likes to chew them so I just keep both out of her reach/sight. If you're a plant lover she is not the cat for you as I have not found a plant she will not try to eat including sticker-y cactus-plants/feathers she will throw up! She is very healthy but I guess if she had a special need its that she has to eat a Hill's Science Diet prescription dry (her pereference) food to help prevent urinary tract infections (UTI's); she's had two. She's had the same vet since I rescued her so all vet records are easily available although there are few as she's been a very healthy cat. I am looking for a loving home for her with a warm lap where she feels safe and is free to roam around INSIDE the house as she is defenseless outside. She's very pretty too, this picture makes her look fat but she's not. If you don't need proof or want to pay for a purebred Manx she's the one for you. Love my baby and missing her terribly but I know she will give lots of love, affection and giggles to her new family.
