New arrival-on hold until end of quarantine after May 28, 2018. Applications being accepted now. 7 weeks old at intake on May 19, 2018. Came in with sister Gretchen. Applications accepted now to begin the approval process which typically takes 1-3 days. Cannot leave until end of quarantine period. Has been dewormed and has age appropriate vaccines. Adopter will receive certificate for spay and rabies vaccine to be provided by our servicing vets when of age. Adoption fee $100. Upon receipt of application, our adoptions coordinator will contact the applicant to answer all questions and discuss needs/requirements specific to the desired dog. Adoption policy and application procedures are detailed at the website under tab All Adoptable Animals. Each shelter resident is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. Adopters who are not within the local area of the shelter MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. Meeting the approved adopters is one of the final steps in the adoption process. We do not permit transport or shipping of our residents without the adopter in attendance. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Resident animals are owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The shelter is not permitted by GA law to accept strays. The facility is usually operating at capacity with a list of animals approved for intake waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
